With no chance of playing in the finals, our Premier Colts team gave a lack-lustre performance against the powerful UQ team. Only 7 showed up for Thursday training and there was an obvious lack of teamwork from the start. Keahn Tipu’s penalty goal was our only score in the first half, as UQ notched four tries. They added another four in the second half but, to our credit, Bond scored two of our own. Both were orchestrated by Reece Tapine – for the first he chipped over the UQ backs and Josh Walker picked up the bounce, and off-loaded to Reece, who scored. For the second he stepped through midfield and passed inside to Josh who shook off a tackle and sprinted 30m to score. It was easy to see why Josh has been given a chance in Premier Grade in recent weeks. The final score 52-15 to UQ.
