17th July, 2017

Our Premier colts team had every right to have confidence riding into this game after troubling second-place GPS with 14 only men for the majority of the match. They had Wests who have been sitting pretty on top of the Colts ladder and were looking to secure the minor premiership.

However, the game didn’t start in favour of our boys, having trouble to get out of own end. Wests showed why they are the best team in the competition by punishing us with a flawless four-try first half, leaving our Colts with a huge mountain to climb in the second half down 24-0.

Credit to the boys, they didn’t drop their heads. John Nucifora raced 90m from an intercept to put the visitors on the board. With 25 minutes to play, a comeback was still on the cards for our boys at 27-7. However, Wests regained control of the contest jotting over for two late tries to put the game beyond doubt 37-7.
