There were some big names at Yoku Road for the first match of the day between two teams locked together on the table with a 6-5 record. Watching their sons play for Jeeps were Rugby media identities Greg Martin and Jim Tucker, while former Wallaby forward Duncan Hall gave our boys a pre-game pep talk. It must have hit the mark, as Bond played well to score a 6 tries to 3 victory by 37-17.
Bustling Kyle Cullen scored the first and last tries, while the other scorers were Riley Wilson, Caleb Enoka, Bevan Reynolds and Jack Giles. And after trying several goal-kickers without success, we found an ace in Will Chapman, who landed two beauties. After leading 22-0 we took the foot off the pedal and Jeeps came back, scoring 3 tries in the second half. But this young side is showing more maturity every game and they re-grouped to finish 20 point winners.
The bonus point win takes Bond into fourth place, 2 ahead of Wests, who we play next week.
