One of the Queensland Premier Grade’s players to watch Joel Brown Openside Flanker comes up against his old club the West Bulldogs this weekend. This will be a different feeling coming up against his club for the first time in the regular season at Scifleet Field.

Sean Hedger Head Coach said, “Brown was a key recruit this season and a player to watch”.

Browns performance has been nothing but brilliant scoring 2 tries so far, this season. His performance has been recognised by coaching staff and players, being named Man of the Match in Round 2 and players player.

Brown has fit right into the Bond Premier Grade squad, as he is a local TSS boy and is playing alongside old team mates Mitch Third (Flyhalf), Sam Clifton Loosehead prop and Jake Upfield lock making the transition easy. Brown has come of a season in the Red’s U20’s in 2016 playing both Blindside Flanker and Openside Flanker.

At age 20 Brown has achieved a great deal within his rugby career playing in the QLD schoolboys U16’s, QLD schoolboys U18’s, Australian A Schoolboys 2013, Brumbies 20’s 2015, Australian Barbarians U20’s and Red’s U20’s.

Brown said, “He looks forward to coming up against West this weekend as he is still friends with a lot of the boys”.

Bond Premier Grade come off a bye this weekend, rejuvenated and ready to take the field.
