27th March, 2017
Josh Walker got our boys off to a flying start with a brilliant individual try, stepping his way through half a dozen defenders to score after just 5 minutes. Jeeps levelled the scores with a try and it was still 5-all at half-time.
But Bond’s forwards took control in the second half, led by Riley Wilson and Austin Northey. Walker scored again and Kaleb Sadgrove, Keahu Tipu and Vinnie Collins also scored. The only problem was our goal-kicking – Keahu managed to convert his try but nobody else could kick a goal. Bond winners 27-19. It was an impressive performance and maintains their winning record. But next week’s match against the competition leaders, Brothers will be a big test.
