Unbeaten after 6 rounds, our Colts 1 team was given a wake-up call by a powerful Brothers team who were also unbeaten. With a big, mobile pack, Brothers dominated the breakdown and starved our boys of possession. Poor ball security, kicking and passing by Bond allowed Brothers to control the game, scoring 3 tries in the first half.
Lively Bond halfback Nick Sanguinetti darted through their forwards for an individual try, but Brothers retaliated with 2 more tries to wrap up the match. Young halfback Josh Vuta, replacing Sanguinetti late in the game, showed he’ll be a star of the future with his crisp service. His no-look pass over the shoulder for Struan Robertson’s try was reminiscent of Campo’s pass to Tim Horan in the 1991 World Cup. Brothers 29 BURC 12.
